Our History

Kaswit was founded in 2004 as a boutique product development and marketing company whose mission is to delight our customers with fun, innovative products and technologies that create a better quality of life while relentlessly providing excellent customer care.
Our Founder: A Visionary Force
She is entrepreneur, producer, philanthropist, industry leader and inspired believer. As such, Denise DuBarry works where she is most comfortable: on the leading edge. In the rare air of business savvy, production prowess and unbridled creativity, she is a powerhouse.

DuBarry conceived parent company Kaswit, Inc. in 2004, after leaving the global direct response leader, Thane International, a company she co-founded and helped run as Chief Creative Officer for two decades. Founded as a boutique product development and marketing company, Kaswit’s mission has never wavered. The company is passionate about bringing fitness and well-being to its ever-evolving community. This is accomplished through its expanding offerings of thoughtful products, value-added videos, Fitness Channel memberships, and rich content.

DuBarry began her early career as an actress, when a quest to look great in a bikini first ignited her pursuit of fitness. This led to her opening her Malibu Bikram-based yoga studio, an early outpost of what is now so tremendously popular. Of course, she soon realized her love of working out was as much about feeling good as looking fit. In addition, she is a partner in the University Village Bikram yoga studio in the greater Palm Springs area.
DuBarry has been a producer on numerous projects, with a long list of credits, and has launched and marketed a succession of products. She is a former president of Palm Springs Women in Film and Television. As a perennial advocate and philanthropist, she has also been a supporter of Olive Crest of the Coachella Valley, a charity that supports abused and neglected children.
Today, DuBarry continues to do what she does best: blaze trails.

Don Sullivan’s Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog was brought to Kaswit in 2006 by Don Sullivan. Denise and her team fell in love with Don’s ability to train all types of dogs, including her own. Don is renowned for achieving amazing behavioral transformations in even the most extreme “bad” dog behavior cases, with positive changes seen in just minutes. Since 2008, Don has been sharing his training secrets with dog owners around the world through his successful DVD program, translated into 8 languages, which is now a PBS pledge special. He recently published an entertaining and informative book about his training philosophy called “Wake Up and Smell the Poop!” Through his training program, Don has undoubtedly saved thousands of dogs from being euthanized and made tens of thousands of dog owners very happy.

The Pilates Power Gym Inventor: Where Invention and Genius Meet.

Kevin Abelbeck’s love of designing exercise equipment began when his grandfather gave him a Sears weight set at the ripe old age of 12. He built his own benches from wood and metal found on the family farm in Nebraska. His first invention, a pulley system of ropes attached to the ceiling in his basement, was used to attach his workout apparatus.

After four years in the Marine Corps, Kevin opted to pursue fitness, earning a degree in exercise and sports studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was already living his passion, placing third in the 2001 ABA Mr. California Natural Bodybuilding Championships. He also received his Alma Mater’s Distinguished Alumni Award for his fitness inventions in 2002.

Kevin continues to be laser-focused on functional performance and trains with several members of the local SWAT team. He has a Masters of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Colorado State University and has contributed more than a dozen publications and presentations in Exercise Science, Engineering and Mathematics. His in-depth understanding of the human body and how it works informs his work and his inventions. He holds 24 U.S. patents.
